Standing 85m high above junction 11 of the M4 motorway, the Green Park turbine is the most visible turbine in our MWP scheme.
Built in conjunction with Green Park, this turbine is an impressive green icon for the local area as it is seen by more than 100,000 people a day, making it one of Europe's most visible turbines.
This windmill also fulfils all the power requirements for the business park and for some of the homes in the surrounding area.
The windmill is sited within the innovative Green Park Business Park, providing a fabulous backdrop for the state of the art turbine.Fine modern architecture lies within a sympathetically conserved natural setting where plant and wildlife species flourish.
The turbine also generates around 3.5 million kWh of renewable electricity every year, enough to power 2% of Wokingham District's domestic electricity requirements.
Electric car users can also charge their cars, using power generated by the turbine. The car charge point is located in the lay-by on Green Park adjacent to the turbine.
Green Park is the first business park in the country with a wind turbine on this scale. Oxford Properties are committed to biodiversity and sustainability at Green Park. We encourage and enable further learning about the wind turbine and sustainability with talks and tours for the local community and schools.
